Bio
I am a public historian, folklorist, and Associate Professor of History at Wright State University as well as an affiliate faculty member in both Women’s Studies and Humanities. I have worked for the Wisconsin Historical Society and with other historical organizations. I was an Associate Professor of History and American Studies at Miami University and I served as Director of Public History at Wright State University from 2000-2007.
I am the author of Six Generations Here: A Wisconsin Farm Family Remembers (1997) and Hunting for Everyday History: a Field Guide for Teachers (2003) and I have published articles and edited publications on oral history, history education, and digital history. I served as co-director of two U.S. Department of Education Teaching American History projects.
I currently serve on the Ohio Humanities Council board, the Ohio Historical Records Advisory Board, and the board of Cityfolk. I co-chair the program committee for the Oral History Association 2008 Annual Meeting, “A Convergence of Interests: Oral History in the Digital Age.”
I received a bachelor’s degree from Miami University, a master’s degree from the State College of New York at Oneonta’s Cooperstown Graduate Program and a doctorate from the University of Minnesota.
I am married to Gary Greenberg; we have a son and a daughter.
